16 December 2020
The Institut des sciences de la mer de Rimouski (ISMER) at the Université du Québec à Rimouski (UQAR) is seeking a professor in marine acoustics for a 3-year term.
The successful candidate will develop a research program to operate a world-class underwater acoustic research station in the St. Lawrence Estuary, document the effect of ships on the sound environment, and to propose concrete means to reduce ship noise. The St. Lawrence Estuary, recognized for the abundance and diversity of the marine mammals that frequent it, has several favorable characteristics for the establishment of the marine acoustic research station (bathymetry, weak currents, etc.).
