Opportunity at Fisheries and Oceans Canada for Physical Scientist lll - Hydroacoustics

Fisheries and Oceans Canada are seeking a scientist who will be based at the Northwest Atlantic Fisheries Centre, St. John's, Newfoundland, Canada. This is a term (fixed duration) position working with collection and analysis of opportunistically acquired EK60 data in support of fisheries stock assessment and ecosystem research.
The role will require the candidate to devise methodologies for collection, archiving and automated processing of acoustic data in order to have data readily available for pelagic fish stock assessment and ecosystem monitoring activities. Duties will also include the calibration, maintenance and troubleshooting of acoustic data collection systems used on Science vessels as well as towed or moored systems used with chartered vessels.
