Getting started with Echoview 
Covers key concepts and navigation techniques when using Echoview. First-time Echoview users should aim to complete this tutorial first.

Covers both the on-screen generation and export of echo-integration results. Echo integration is a key concept in the conversion of hydroacoustic backscatter to biomass. Many of the concepts and techniques covered in this tutorial apply to the variety of other analyses you can perform in Echoview.

Where "Processing Data topics" are referred to in these exercises, please see the "Getting started with Echoview" and "Introduction to integration" tutorials above, and the Echoview Technical Manual.

Instructions for running exercise-based tutorials

  1. Download and install the latest version of Echoview to your computer. Please contact us if you wish to obtain a temporary Echoview license for evaluation purposes.
  2. Download the files above to a temporary location on your computer, e.g. the Desktop.
  3. Double-click on the downloaded file, select the folder to extract the files to and click "Unzip". We recommend using the default file locations.
  4. You will need Adobe Acrobat Reader to read the PDF tutorial instruction files. This can be downloaded free from Adobe here.
