The Fisheries System Engineering Division at the National Fisheries Research & Development Institute (NFRDI) will soon have a fantastic sea water tank for predominantly acoustic study. Dr. Kyounghee Lee is taking charge of the project of making the water tank. The tank is 7 m high, and has a diameter of 3.5 m. He is very excited about it and sharing this facility with Korean acousticians. He is planning to hold a workshop on acoustic studies in Korea Sea around the middle of Oct. The workshop will include looking at possible studies the water tank could be used for, and a demonstration of the water tank. We expect that a great number of studies using the water tank will be published soon.
