Virtual echogram module
The virtual echogram module is an advanced data processing module for Echoview. Like other modules, this module will be developed continuously to keep up with new techniques in fisheries acoustics.
The module is designed to apply mathematical or logical operators to an entire echogram and display the results as a virtual echogram. Virtual echograms can be used as inputs to further operators to create powerful data analyses.
Virtual echograms can be used in real time with Simrad Ex60 and Ex500 echosounders when the Live Viewing module is licensed.
The Analysis export module is a prerequisite for the Virtual Echogram module.
Features
One hundred and twenty operators are available through the Virtual echogram module. Some operators can also be used via other Echoview modules i.e. Bathymetric, Analysis export, Stationary sonar, 2D sonar and 3D sonar.
- Arithmetic operators
- Echogram differencing for species classification, freeform creation of mathematical expressions and logical classification rules.
- Bitmap operators
- Create bitmap masks and use logical operations.
- Conversion operators
- Convert logarithmic data to linear, Data type conversion.
- Convolution operators
- Apply convolution filters and image processing using 3X3, 5X5, 7X7 and XxY kernels.
- Data manipulation operators
- Resample by pings, time or interval, Ping subset, Copy, Merge, Threshold, Motion correction (Dunford method), Match ping times.
- Imaging operators
- Overlay, Color, 3 color maximum and GLCM texture.
- Movement operators
- Distance correction, GPS filter, GPS Kalman smoothing filter.
- Multibeam operators
- Beam filter, Beam convolution, Multibeam target detection, Beam subset, FIR, IIR, background subtraction.
- Single target detection operators
- Algorithms for single beam, split beam and dual beam data.
- Single target manipulation operators
- Find those single targets detected at the same range at 2 frequencies, calculate target length, threshold against a target property.
Note: Line and line pick operators are also available through the Bathymetric module.
