What are these pages about?

These pages are about empowering more people to be able to use acoustic data powerfully and effectively in their research.

Much of the work in acoustics involves working out how to extract useful information from the raw data. This requires processing the data in a way that is both theoretically correct and pragmatically achievable.

Collectively a great deal of work has gone into the development of approaches and techniques for converting sound to knowledge. However, the results of this work have yet to be centralised and made comprehensively available. Without an easy way of distributing knowledge and tools, there is the risk that the community as a whole will spend less time building on this knowledge and more time reinventing the wheel.

These pages provide a centralised place for the dissemination of knowledge and tools. If you have data-processing techniques that you wish to share, please contact us to arrange for them to be posted here.
