Features of bathymetric module
The bathymetric module allows you to make
full use of Echoview's line creation,
editing and export functions.
|
How lines are used
Lines are used extensively in the
display, analysis and exporting of data in
Echoview. For example:
- Displaying sounder detected bottom
line.
- Picking bottom lines.
- Setting 'exclude data above' and 'exclude
data below' lines to selectively omit data
from analyses and exports, e.g. to exclude
surface noise and bottom data.
- To assign a status to pings that
intersect with the line for the purpose of
including or excluding data from exports
and analyses
- To create visual cues on echograms
- To allow exporting of line data for
manipulating in other programs
- To import lines from other programs
for display on echograms
Key features
- Lines can be created by freehand
drawing or by defining them relative to
another line or at a fixed depth.
-
Virtual lines (lines that maintain a
dynamic link to another line) can be
created.
- Bottom lines can be picked
using a number of configurable
algorithms.
- Lines may be edited by
manually redrawing them or redefining
their properties.
- Manual setting of
quality flags (good, bad or unverified)
for lines.
- Manual setting of "user defined
status" flags (e.g. for bottom-type
definition).
- Export of quality
controlled depth, position and status
information for pings in ASCII format
for input into GIS, mapping or other
data analysis packages.
-
Create 3D digital terrain models of seabeds from lines.
-
Import and display 3D seabed surfaces in a variety of formats.
